Donnie Yen as IP MANI just had a chance to watch the movie IP MAN... it was a double date for me & Fad with my parents.... Fad has been waiting since few weeks ago to watch this movie... suddenly daddy call me up and asked me and fad would like to join them (Dad & Mum) to watch the movie at 1Borneo... so we agreed....
When we entered the movie theatre...i thought this will be another Chinese kung Fu movie which will put me to sleep in a matter of minutes.... but i was totally wrong... it was not your typical Kung Fu Movie...
Donnie Yen plays as Ip Man ( YIP MUN)...i think he totally nailed the part... i never knew that kung fu can be so handsome (of course he look so handsome but the way he kung fu-ed really so handsomely).... hahaha... im not sure if you understand what i meant.... but he does sure look like the real YIP MUN which was the MASTER/SIFU for BRUCE LEE...
Yip Mun has been potrayed as an educated and gentleman.... he never use his kung fu for no good reason.... even the first fight scene where a new Master of a new school of martial arts came and challenged him (in order to know which one is much more better kung fu).. at first the Master came in a bad time since Yip Sifu was having dinner with his family... But the Master insisted to wait until Yip Sifu to Finish his dinner for their duel... then Yip Sifu invited the Master (supposedly to come for a duel) to have dinner together.... and the master accept it and without any shame eats a lot too.... so after dinner Yip Sifu signalled his wife that it will just a quick duel... so they fought.... and actually not really a real duel though... both of them promised that it will be a private duel which nobody should tell anybody who won or lose... of course with a super skilled Yip Sifu only defending and attacked at the very last minute but did not really kick the Master's butt... so they went out smilling
together...

Second favorite scene... would be the fight scene between Yip Sifu with the northener who came and challenge all the Masters of Martial Arts School in Foo shan... and unfortunately everyone lost...but words came to the northerner that the greatest Martial Arts Sifu will be YIP MAN... if he can beat Yip Sifu...THEN he would be the BEST OF THE BEST.... so he went and challenged Yip Sifu.... but Yip Sifu decline a duel...since Yip Sifu saw within this man was only greed for power.... but somehow the northerner said like this
" ARE YOU A HUSBAND WHO IS AFRAID OF THEIR WIFE?"..
but Yip reply " IT IS NOT AFRAID BUT RESPECT THAT I HAVE FOR MY WIFE"
and the northerner also said something to Yip's wife and then Yip's wife asked Yip to accept the duel.... with one condition - not to break things in the house... When they started to duel.... Yip was just defending and do not attack...but the northerner keep attacking... and then suddenly a vase was broken... Yip was surprise thinking in his mind...that what would his wife say... but the northerner say " I PAY"... then the tea set again broken... and again the northerner said "I PAY".... then a pause... music stop.... Yip's son came out in a bicycle and told his dad
"MUM SAYS IF YOU DON'T START FIGHTING THE MAN WILL WRECK ALL THE THINGS IN THE HOUSE" ...
Yip reply "YES SON"
So he did and of course Yip Sifu won... just by using a Feather Duster versus a big sword...
My 3rd favorite scene would be Yip Sifu challenged a 10 men duel.... which was a very good scene... becasue Yip Sifu was so angry with the Japanese... because using a chinese man as a punching bag for their martial arts training.... and the duel was so great.... 10 men versus 1... good scene... before he started to duel.... he pull out his sweet potato (which he kept everyday for his son n wife) and put in on the floor... after the duel.. he took the potato and a sack of rice...
Watch the trailer below... whoever that has not seen the movie...i recommend you to go and watch... you'll cry and then you'll be smilling again....
